LEARNING WITH HANNA
Hanna has always enjoyed combining performing with teaching, as for her these two parts of working with music feed into each other and continue to nurture and inspire her.
She is an experienced educator who has worked with students of all levels - from new beginners to advanced players - in both individual and group settings. Hanna always aims to find what sparks and motivates each student, tailoring her lessons to their individual needs while creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
With Hanna, you will work on tone building and foundational technique, how to read music, learning by ear and developing tools for improvisation as well as building confidence, finding your own musical voice and build a varied repertoire. But maybe most importantly, her main focus when teaching is to support you in enjoying the process of making and learning music.

"We feel so lucky that Hanna was recommended to us when my daughter (10 at the time) wanted to learn the clarinet. Hanna has been all you would want in a music teacher - enthusiastic, kind, inspiring and fun. It has always been easy to communicate with Hanna around lesson times and progress, and I love how adaptive she is to my daughter's learning style and needs, which is so important in keeping the enthusiasm alive! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hanna to all those looking to learn clarinet or saxophone."

“I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to study saxophone under the tutelage of Hanna, a truly remarkable teacher. From the moment I embarked on this musical journey, it became evident that she was not just good but exceptional, leaving an indelible mark on my musical growth and passion for the saxophone.
What truly sets Hanna apart is her gift for teaching. She has an innate ability to break down complex musical concepts into digestible, easy-to-understand lessons, (crucial for me). She seems to cater to students of all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner looking to grasp the basics or an advanced player seeking to refine your technique, she seems to have a style that adapts, and I have seen it in action.
She provides unwavering support, offering constructive feedback and encouragement every step of the way. Her approach fosters a nurturing and motivating learning environment that makes even the most difficult pieces and techniques seem attainable.
Hanna goes beyond the technical in and instills a profound appreciation for music. Her dedication and commitment go beyond the confines of the studio and is always readily available for questions, practice tips, and guidance, fostering a sense of continuous support and mentorship.
In conclusion, my experience with Hanna has been transformative. Her exceptional talent, teaching prowess, and unwavering support have propelled my saxophone journey to the point that I shall keep striving to be the best I can.
I wholeheartedly recommend Hanna to anyone seeking to embark on or further their musical journey. With Hanna’s guidance, you're not just learning an instrument; you're embarking on a musical adventure that will enrich your life in ways you never thought possible.”

“Hanna is such a gift! We had a slightly reluctant 12 year old who began learning saxophone with Hanna three terms ago. Music is now well and truly a part of his life - he is listening to jazz, practicing more than he’s asked, and even had the confidence to join his intermediate school concert band. Hanna hooked him in with her warmth and humour, and her ability to know exactly the best individual approach for teaching him. We feel lucky to have a teacher who is heavily involved in the music community, both in New Zealand and internationally. This has provided so many opportunities for our whole family to be exposed to a wide variety of music outside of the weekly lessons.”
