Marine/Simonson/Wiskari
Marine/Simonson/Wiskari is a dynamic Swedish–New Zealand trio bringing contemporary Nordic folk music to life through violin, flute, saxophone and bass clarinet. Vibrant and expressive, their music moves seamlessly between traditional Scandinavian music and original compositions, with generous space for improvisation.
A playful yet masterful exchange between three distinct musical voices, the trio draws on Nordic folk traditions while continually pushing creative boundaries. Each musician brings a strong personal sound and colour, creating music that is rhythmically alive, texturally rich and deeply connected to tradition.
Mia Marine - violin, Jonas Simonson - flute & bass clarinet, Hanna Wiskari - saxophone
ZORA
ZORA means ‘dawn’, ‘blossom’ and ‘vitality’. It represents our capacity to appreciate beauty and the invigorating sense of hope we are able to experience through the communion of living music – a music which here transcends cultural boundaries, languages and time.
ZORA Quartet gathers the unique, evocative artists : Rasoul Abbasi on kamanche (Iran), Hanna Wiskari on saxophone (Sweden), Tui Mamaki on vocals (France/Bulgaria) and Basant Madhur on tabla (India).
While interweaving traditional repertoire from their colourful musical heritage, they explore parallels and differences – through bespoke arrangements with space for improvisation – and embody a kind of listening that comes with feeling honoured to be in collaboration.
